Once upon a time, there was a king named Midas who loved gold more than anything else in the world. He believed that having lots of gold would make him the happiest man alive.
One day, a magical being appeared before King Midas and offered to grant him a wish. Without thinking twice, King Midas said, "I wish that everything I touch turns to gold!"
The magical being granted his wish and warned, "Be careful what you wish for."
At first, King Midas was thrilled. He touched a rock, and it turned into gold. He touched a tree, and it became gold. He couldn't stop smiling as he imagined all the treasures he would have.
But soon, things started to go wrong. When King Midas sat down to eat, his food turned to gold the moment he touched it. He became hungry and thirsty but couldn’t eat or drink.
The worst moment came when his beloved daughter ran to hug him. As soon as she touched him, she turned into a golden statue. King Midas was heartbroken. He realized that his love for gold had caused him to lose what truly mattered to him.
Desperate, he begged the magical being to take back the golden touch. The magical being appeared again and said, "You have learned a valuable lesson. True happiness does not come from gold but from love and the things that truly matter in life."
The magical being reversed the wish, and King Midas’s daughter returned to normal. King Midas hugged her tightly and promised never to let greed rule his heart again.
From that day on, King Midas was a changed man. He learned to cherish his family and friends, understanding that love and kindness were the greatest treasures of all.
