In a grand kingdom, there lived a wise old man known for his great knowledge. One day, the king, curious and puzzled, called the old man to his court. “Tell me,” the king asked, “what is the most valuable thing in the world?” The wise man smiled and said, “The most valuable thing is knowledge, dear king.”
The king frowned. “But I have riches, land, and power! Why would I need knowledge?” he questioned. The wise man saw a chance to teach the king an important lesson. “Come with me for a walk,” he said. The king, though curious, agreed.
They strolled through the bustling marketplace filled with the aroma of fresh fruits and the chatter of people. The wise man stopped at a fruit stall and picked up a ripe mango. “Try this,” he said, handing the mango to the king. The king took a bite and his eyes lit up. “Delicious!” he exclaimed.
The wise man nodded and asked, “Now, tell me, how did you know this fruit would be sweet before tasting it?” The king paused, realizing he hadn’t known. He could only understand the sweetness by experiencing it.
The wise man explained, “Knowledge is like that. It helps you understand things you can’t see or taste right away. It helps you make good choices and enjoy life to the fullest.” The king thought deeply and understood the wisdom in the old man’s words.
From that day on, the king valued knowledge more than gold. He opened schools and libraries so that everyone in his kingdom could learn and grow wise. He knew that knowledge was a treasure that would guide his people for generations.
The end.
